Our learning journeys are based on specially selected themes to pique their interests in learning about various topics related to both schoolwork, history and culture. Instead of spoonfeeding the children, we introduce academic topics by exposing them to the environment and people around them, thereby arousing their interests in learning and finding out more. With a proactive mindset, our children would then learn more with less teaching through self-discovery and experiential learning, making them thirst for more knowledge.

Groundwork by the children

After the theme is selected, our children are split up into groups and older children will be asked to lead. The children will brainstorm, select and and research on a topic they are interested, while the teachers facilitate.  Our teachers will also bring them to the library specially for them to do their research. WIth the knowledge they have acquired, they will be then ready and interested to go for the learning journey planned out for them.

Learning Journey

Our children will go to a relevant place of interest where they can enhance their knowledge with real-life applications, allowing them to draw links between theory and reaity. Instead of just taking notes, our children are encouraged to take photographs to capture moments of interest, which will then be used for discussion and presentation later on. On a side note, these photographs can be used by the children for our very own photography competition.

Presentation

After being exposed to theoretical knowledge and real-life applications, our children will consolidate and present on their findings to their peers. By doing this themselves, they will develop teamwork and organizational skills. They will also hone their public speaking skills and build up their confidence. Not only have they developed a new interest for learning, they would have managed to internalize their knowledge, draw links and thirst for more at the end of this programme.
